Antique lap desk; the outside has been stripped, sanded, and refinished in a light wood tone.
The black sections on the top and the front are the original finish.
Some minor cracks were filled and stabilized before sanding and refinishing, the lock had already been removed at somepoint, and the hinges were tightened up.
The inside is all original. The felt has seen better days but was the original so I didn’t replace it.
