A very old edition that has Black Beauty on the cover with one color illustration on the frontispiece of Beauty and Ginger. The boards are rubbed top and bottom, there is bumping to each of the corners but the binding, spine and hinges are tight and straight. Staples and cloth covering is solid. There is a previous owner salutation on the front endpaper. There is damage to the front boards and smudges on the rear boards. All internal pages are clean, with no tears and no previous owner marks but as with most Donohue & Co. publication there is tanning and darkening at the page edge. Pages are dry and fragile. 64 pages. Dimensions: H – 9-1/2” W – 7-1/2”
