Overview: Up for sale is a lovely old oil painting on masonite board. This piece was painted by Hazel Warnken, a Houma, Louisiana artist. Warnken was born in 1909. I haven't seen a lot of information about her, but her work is quite good. This piece depicts a lighthouse on a beach. It is faintly signed at lower right. I love the free and loose brushwork of the piece, as it really gives it an airy, beachy feel. Painting is undated and unframed. This came out of a Louisiana estate along with a couple of other pieces by the same artist.
Condition: The painting is in fair to good condition. There is quite a bit of cracquelure, crazing and edge wear (from a prior framing). there are also a number of minor but noticeable scratches throughout the sky area.
Measurements: Painting measures 16 inches wide x 12 inches high.
