Vintage 1990 Department 56 Snow Village Mainstreet Hardware Store Lighted Building ~ Retired 1993
The Snow Village line brought back memories to many collectors of places of their childhood from the churches where they were married, the stores they shopped, the homes in their neighborhoods.
A fixture on everyone's Main Street is the local hardware store. Lighted porcelain brick building has three stories. On the lower level is Mainstreet Hardware, you can see the paint cans stacked inside the front window. Bags of salt are stacked across building front with a side that reads 50 cents. The upper levels offer rooms for rent. Along the side of the building is a staircase that leads to the rented rooms. Great details from the house # on front of building to the shovel and bag of salt underneath the stairs.
