Very good pre-owned sauce/soup tureen from Mason's Patent Ironstone
Pattern in Ascot Brown
This listing features a vintage lidded sauce boat/tureen and matching underplate from Mason’s in their “Ascot Brown Multicolour” pattern. Please note that it is missing its original serving spoon.
The tureen is 7 1/2” long from handle to handle, stands 5 1/2” tall to the top of the lid and is 5” wide.
The underplate is 8 1/2” long and 6” wide.
A beautiful example of English transfer ware, this small lidded sauce boat/tureen and underplate set could be used at your next dinner soirée or simply as an accent piece on a sideboard. It would also look great holding flowers or a potted plant. The brown Ascot pattern is a pretty floral pattern with accents of green, yellow and light brown.
This set is in very good vintage condition, but it does have a few flaws. There is some crazing in the glaze on the underplate.
