Miniature Mohair Seated Tabby Doll Toy, Stieff?, Germany
This is a charming, miniature gray hard bodied tabby cat is made of mohair. With a height of 2 inches width of 1.5", this handcrafted animal is perfect for collectors of all ages. I believe it's meant as a pet for older dolls or was possibly a salesman sample. Blue Tag on the bottom says Made in Germany. Possibly Steiff. I believe manufactured before 1940.
This antique is the perfect companion for your dolly friends. With an exquisite design and a focus on details, a must-have for any doll collector.
The seated gray & white tabby cat is the only one like it that I've ever seen; I personally collected Steiff's cats and kittens when I was younger but this one comes from my Great Aunt's personal collection left in her estate and I have yet to see one similar.
