An unbelievably flawless facet grade Double Terminated Herkimer Diamond Floater from the Turtle Clan Mine just outside of Fonda, NY.
This is as good as they get. They hardly ever come out of the ground this perfect. Especially at this size. Herkimer Diamonds usually stop being gem quality around 15 to 17 mm in length at the largest. This 500 million year old beauty is 38 mm in length. In fact to date this is the largest, most intact eye clean Herkimer Diamond Floater that I have yet seen from the Turtle Clan Mine. Simply the best of the best. This is the only one I have. There is growth interference at one of the terminations or it would be absolutely perfect. For 500 million years in the Earth it is astonishing to find something this perfect.
