This an original vintage movie window card for the acclaimed noirish “Sweet Smell of Success” that was displayed in movie theaters. The film was written by Clifford Odets & starred Tony Curtis, as Sidney Falco who was ‘the kid who wanted in’, & Burt Lancaster, as star newspaper columnist J.J. Hunsecker. The film tells the story of powerful, sleazy newspaper columnist J.J. Hunsecker (based on Walter Winchell) who uses his connections to ruin his sister's relationship with a man he deems unworthy of her.
This unrestored 1953 window card for the critically acclaimed satirical film noir “Sweet Smell of Success” is in very fine to near mint condition with minor wear & tear. The artwork of the images is superb & the poster presents very well.
The shadowy noir cinematography was filmed on location in New York City. “Sweet Smell of Success” boasts a top-notch cast, sharp direction, atmospheric cinematography & an appropriately jazzy score, making it one of the best noir crime thrillers ever.
