Peter Beard was born in New York, USA in 1938. He is a photographer and artist.
As a boy, he was inspired by "Out of Africa," a novel based on the true experiences of the Danish author Isak Dinesen, who lived in Africa for 17 years.
After graduating from Yale University in 1961, he decided to move to eastern Kenya, the setting of the novel.
There, he is known for publishing "The End of the Game," a photographic diary that documented the dying elephants and wild animals due to environmental destruction through photographs, notes, and words and drawings directly on the photographs.
Later, he lived in Montauk, Long Island, a suburb of New York, but passed away in 2020.
This is a complete edition reprint from TASCHEN that covers all of Peter Beard's works, including interviews with him and the history of his activities as an artist, spanning 796 pages, and is new.
The original limited edition of the complete edition published by TASCHEN in 2006 quickly sold out and became a collectible item.
