America’s First 50-Stamp Se-Tenant
The story of these stamps begins in 1978, when Fleetwood hired father-son wildlife artists Arthur and Alan Singer to create 50 original paintings of state birds and flowers for a set for Fleetwood. When U.S. Postal Service officials saw the high-quality paintings, they immediately decided to issue a 50-stamp se-tenant showcasing the father-son team’s watercolor paintings. The product is a sheet of 50 20 cent stamps issued by the United States in 1982 showcasing state birds and flowers. These stamps are Mint Never Hinged and in Very Fine/Extremely Fine condition. The colorful designs make it a visually appealing collection, representing the biodiversity and culture of different states within the United States. A perfect addition for stamp collectors interested in American philately with a focus on nature and regional themes.
