First printing of the first authorized American mass market paperback edition of The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien (Ballantine Books, 1965). Rare and collectible first printing of this historic edition of book two in the beloved high fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings. Some rubbing, scuffing, creases and small tears to covers, mostly around the edges. Corners bumped and worn. Creasing to covers along sides of spine. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is fairly straight and binding remains strong on the whole. Previous owner’s inscription to first page, otherwise pages are clean and unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
