Set of 6 Vintage Grindley HotelWare Duraline "Bordeaux" Salad Plates Super Vitrified. Made in England.
These 7” luncheon plates feature a white ceramic body with a dark red, wavy border and a black line just inside the border. Made by Grindley Hotelware as part of their "SuperVitrified Duraline" line.
The plates are also referred to as "restaurant ware" due to their heavy-duty, durable construction from the 1950's, early 1960's. Great durable plates for everyday use.
Vitrified china is fired at very high temperatures producing a glass like surface and profound durability.
The number on the bottom of the plate indicates when they were manufactured.
These all show “1-60” indicating January, 1960. All have maker’s mark.
Set of 6. In great condition no chips or cracks. Normal Vintage wear. Backs show more wear than front. Plate is both dishwasher and microwave safe.
